WWN Issue 415

This is the 415th issue of the World Wine News publication. Its main goal is to inform you of what's going on around Wine. Wine is an open source implementation of the Windows API on top of X and Unix. Think of it as a Windows compatibility layer. Wine does not require Microsoft Windows, as it is a completely alternative implementation consisting of 100% Microsoft-free code.

Wine 7.5
Wine 7.5 was released last Friday. It is available here, here, and for the binary packages here. The release includes the following: Initial support for the Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP). OCSP is used to check the revocation status of a X.509 digital certificates. Converted the Linux ALSA sound driver to Portable Executable (PE) format. We covered PE conversion in WWN 408. Locale database generated from the Unicode Common Locale Database Repository (CLDR). CLDR is widely used to support the world's languages, and provides locale data necessary for internationalization and localization. High-Level Shader Language (HLSL) compiler support with the bundled vkd3d (Wine's D3D12 implementation). Additional cleanup to support long type variables.
